Sokratis Voted Best Center-Back in German Bundesliga
Greece international Sokratis Papastathopoulos of Borussia Dortmund was voted to the German Bundesliga Starting XI for the first half of the season and was named the best center-back in the league.
With 31,839 votes (27%) Sokratis Papastathopoulos was named the best center-back in the German Bundesliga for the first half of the season. He finished ahead of Koln’s Mergim Mavraj (26%), and Bayern Munich’s Matt Hummels. Both Papastathopoulos and Mavraj were named to the league’s Starting XI for the centerback position.
Along with Sokratis and Mavraj, the starting XI included Neuer (Bayern Munich), Alaba (Bayern Munich), Lahm (Bayern Munich), Dembele (Dortmund), Pulisic (Dortmund), Thiago (Bayern Munich), Aubameyang (Dortmund), Lewandowski (Bayern Munich), and Modeste (Köln).
