Manchester City and Real Madrid played to a goal-less draw in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League Semi-finals. Joe Hart kept the clean sheet for City denying Real Madrid on multiple occasions, especially in the second half. The second leg will be played in Madrid next Wednesday, May 4th.

The first half was uneventful as both teams played conservatively. After a goal-less first half, the second half started off like the first with minimal chances for either team. In the final 25 minutes, Real Madrid pressed in City’s half looking for the opener. The first warning came in the 70th minute when Jese’s header found the crossbar. In the final 10 minutes, Joe Hart denied Real Madrid on multiple occasions, including Pepe’s close ranged shot from inside the 6-yard box. Real continued to attack, but could not find the important away goal and the game ended 0-0. For the visitors, Ronaldo was ruled out before the game due to a thigh injury and is expected to play in next week’s second leg. The two teams will play in Madrid next Wednesday for a place in the UEFA Champions League Final.
