Olympiacos Lose Hackett for the Rest of the Season

-- Olympiacos Lose Hackett for the Rest of the Season --

Unfortunate news for Olympiacos and Daniel Hackett...The Italian-American guard has been ruled out for SIX months due to an injury.

This season has come to an early end for Daniel Hackett. The latest medical exams revealed a detachment of the biceps femoral tendon, meaning Hackett will need surgery. This diagnosis will leave the Italian-American guard out for six months (the rest of the season).

Hackett suffered the injury in Olympiacos’ Euroleague game against UNICS Kazan last week. The injury seemed serious at first (thought to be sidelined for two months), but after the most recent medical examination, the worst possible scenario became a reality. The 28-year old will have surgery in the United States or Italy.

Yiannis Sfairopoulos and his staff have already begun scouting for Hackett’s replacement. More will be known next week.
