Greece put on another great performance in their friendly 70-75 away win over Turkey. This was Greece’s second of three tests before the Olympic Qualifying Tournament which is scheduled to begin next month. The Galanolefki will give their final friendly on Tuesday in Belgrade against Serbia.

After defeating Turkey on Thursday by a high margin of victory, Greece once again were victorious against their neighbors. The win is an important one as it was away from home and against a tough opponent. Despite Greece’s 16 turnovers (due to the fast pace of the game), the Episimi Agapimeni was able to convert on the offensive end. Giannis Antetokounmpo took over the “creative” role with 6 assists and 17 points. Koufos, Calathes, and Papapetrou each put on a good performance and Tyler Dorsey from Oregon scored 12 points. Dorsey, who was born to a Greek mother, plays for the Oregon Ducks in the NCAA. He has played with Greece’s Youth National Teams and this was his first call-up to the Men’s team. His good performance is another positive thing coach Fotis Katsikaris can take away from today’s game.

Greece’s final friendly, before the Olympic Tournament begins, is scheduled for Tuesday in Belgrade against Serbia.
