Greek coach Fotis Katsikaris cut Tyler Dorsey and Vasilis Kavvadas from the roster, finalizing the team that will travel to Italy for the Pre-Olympic Qualifying Tournament. Sloukas was ruled out last minute due to an injury.

After 3 friendly matches and 2 weeks of training, Katsikaris has announced the 12 players that will represent Greece at the Pre-Olympic Qualifying Tournament. Katsikaris originally called up 16 players for the pre-selection roster with 4 players not making final team. Both Papanikolaou and Sloukas were ruled out due to injuries and, yesterday, Kavvadas and Dorsey were both cut from the roster. Despite therapy twice a day, Sloukas did not surpass his injury, adding to Greece’s injury problems (Printezis has also been ruled out).

There are 6 different players from the team that competed at Eurobasket 2015. The retiring of Spanoulis and Zisis from the Galanolefki, along with the injuries of Papanikolaou, Sloukas, and Printezis will give an opportunity to other Greek players to make an appearance with National Team. Greece’s new additions in comparison to Eurobasket 2015 are: T. Antetokounmpo, Athinaiou, Papapetrou, Agravanis, Bogris, Charalampopoulos.

The team arrived in Turin today with Greece’s first game scheduled for Monday against Mexico. The 12-man roster is below...
