Luciano ruled out for 6 months
Panathinaikos will be without their new summer signing Luciano for six months after the Brazilian suffered an ACL injury in yesterday’s Cup fixture against Larissa.
The worst feared scenario was confirmed on Thursday as Luciano’s medical tests revealed a ruptured ACL and ruptured outward meniscus knee injury. The Brazilian was injured in yesterday’s Cup fixture against Larissa in the 75th minute when his foot stuck took the ground while making a pass to Chatzigiovannis. Luciano was carried off in tears and was rushed to the hospital where the medical tests revealed the extent of his injury.
The 24-year old will undergo surgery in the coming days and begin his long recovery process which will keep him off the pitch for six months. If all goes well, he will return in late February 2018.
