AEK BC sign experienced Slaughter

AEK BC have signed a one-year contract with the experienced Marcus Slaughter for the upcoming 2019/2020 campaign.

On Friday morning, the Athenians released this following statement:

“Today (09/08), AEK BC is pleased to announce that Marcus Slaughter has signed a contract with the Vasilissa. The agreement will run until the completion of the 2019/2020 season.”

Slaughter, 34, was available as a free agent after he left Bahcesehir.

The commanding American center arrives in Athens with plenty of experience. Since graduating from the San Diego State College in 2006, Slaughter has spent the vast majority of his career in Europe, notably playing for Hapoel Jerusalem, CB Valladolid, Brose Bamberg, Darussafaka, Real Madrid and Bologna. Slaughter was also on the books of the Miami Heat for a brief period of time in 2007.

During the 2018/2019 season, Slaughter made 28 appearances for Bahcesehir, averaging 8.1 points, 7.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.4 steals in the Turkish championship.
