In the Champions League third qualifying round, AEK will face Scottish giants Celtic, but before a ball has been kicked, the draw for the playoff phase will be held on Monday, August 6. Interestingly, the reigning Greek champions find themselves in the seeded half, so if they manage to defeat Celtic, AEK will play a supposedly weaker team in the next round. Here are the seeded and unseeded teams/pairings:

SEEDED TEAMS/PAIRINGS

Salzburg - Shkendija

PSV Eindhoven

Celtic - AEK

Astana - Dinamo Zagreb

UNSEEDED TEAMS/PAIRINGS

Young Boys

Qarabag - BATE Borisov

Malmo - Vidi

Crvena Zvezda - Spartak Trnava

The Champions League playoff matches are scheduled for August 21/22 and August 27/28.

However, AEK will also be involved in the Europa League playoff draw, a competition which the Enosis will drop down to in the event of a loss against Celtic.

This year, the Europa League qualifiers are split up into Champions Route and League Route sections, and the possible opponents for AEK in the tournament’s playoffs include APOEL, Rosenborg, CFR Cluj, Legia Warsaw and Giannis Anestis’ Hapoel Beer-Sheva. Just like in the Champions League playoffs, the Kitrinomavri will be seeded:

SEEDED TEAMS/PAIRINGS
