Despite failing to earn a point in the UEFA Champions League group stages, AEK managed to move back into the top 100 of the UEFA Club Coefficient rankings. The club began the season in 122nd spot and ended, for now, in 94th spot (26-place jump) with only a few teams still alive to surpass the Enosis in the rankings.

The Enosis received 4.000 bonus points in qualifying for the UEFA Champions League group stages at the expense of Vidi and Celtic and now have a total of 14.000 points in the coefficient rankings (only last five years of performances are taken into account). Surely the Dikefalos will be disappointed from the Champions League group stage campaign as it was a great opportunity to add to their club coefficient total.

AEK will need to continue building their European ranking in the upcoming seasons as to receive theoretically easier opponents (as a higher seeded team) in the qualifying rounds and group stages of UEFA’s competitions. If AEK qualify for Europe next season, their increased coefficient tally will likely keep them seeded for the majority of their draws in next year’s European qualifying rounds.
