AEK to remain at OAKA

Despite having initially planned to move to Rizoupoli for the 2020/2021 season, AEK have taken the decision to remain at the Olympic Stadium.

AEK will spend one more season in Marousi. At the start of the year, the Kitrinomavri seemed to have made the decision to play at the Georgios Kamaras Stadium in Rizoupoli during the 2020/2021 campaign, but the state of play has changed. AEK are now engaging in the process of signing the necessary contracts with the OAKA management for next season.

The Enosi will subsequently move into their new Agia Sofia Stadium in Nea Filadelfeia in the summer of 2021.

Reports have suggested that the effects of the coronavirus pandemic convinced AEK to continue playing at the OAKA instead of transferring to Rizoupoli. However, considering that it is located next to Nea Filadelfeia and doesn’t have a running track, supporters had been keen on playing at the Georgios Kamaras Stadium.

Nevertheless, for one more season, they will have to be content with watching AEK play at the OAKA.

AEK have been using the largely unpopular OAKA as their home arena since 2004.
