Pieros Sotiriou joins Astana

Cypriot international striker Pieros Sotiriou joined Kazakhstani champions FC Astana from FC Copenhagen on a three-year deal earlier this week.

Sotiriou moved to Denmark in July 2017 after putting together superb performances with APOEL in the 2016/2017 season. He helped the Nicosia club win the championship as well as reach the round of 16 in the Europa League after eliminating Athletic Bilbao. 

Sotiriou recorded 35 goals and 11 assists in 110 games with Copenhagen while winning the 2018-2019 Danish championship. The Danish giants bid him farewell with a video of all his goals while in the Danish capital. 

Sotiriou signed a three-year deal with Astana in a move that is rumored to have cost roughly two million euros.
