On Monday, Lamia released this following statement:

“PAS Lamia 1964 announces the termination of its contract with coach Sotiris Antoniou and his assistant Giannis Providas. We thank them for their efforts with our team, wishing them luck in their careers.”

Antoniou, 44, had been the Lamia boss since August. With seven rounds in the books, Lamia currently occupy 12th place of the Super League standings with four points. Lamia suffered a comprehensive 3-0 defeat to PAOK on the road yesterday after conceding three goals in the opening 11 minutes.

Reports in the media are now stating that Akis Mantzios, who was most recently the head  coach of Panionios between December 2018 and September 2019, will replace Antoniou as the Lamia manager.
