APOEL and Apollon to face giants in group stages
 

APOEL and Apollon were relatively unlucky in their respective draws for the group stages of the Champions League and Europa League.

APOEL will face the defending European champions Real Madrid, the German giants Borussia Dortmund, and one of the most talented teams in the Premier League, Tottenham Hotspur in this year’s UEFA Champions League group stages. Group H is considered one of the “groups of death” with the three powerhouse clubs expected to fight for two knockout stage places. On the other hand, the Cypriot champions are considered the clear outsiders in the group, but APOEL will put in their best effort to spring a shocking result. Nonetheless, their fans will have the joy to host these big clubs at the GSP stadium throughout the group stage campaign. 
 
Apollon will participate in Group E of the Europa League along with Wayne Rooney’s Everton, French side Olympique Lyonnais, and the Italians Atalanta. The Cypriot Cup holders will be matched up with some very experienced sides, coming from the best leagues in Europe
