Pafos continued their good spell of form with an important 2-1 home win over Ermis. The visitors managed to open the scoring when Georgiadis saw Koprivec off his goal line and launched a shot from mid-field that found the back of the net. The impressive goal is an early candidate for goal of the season. Pafos answered early in the second half with Dominguez and in the 73rd minute, Goulon’s goal completed the turnaround for the host as they held on to celebrate another win.

Omonoia were held to a 1 -1 draw by Olympiakos Nicosia at the GSP Stadium. Omonoia controlled the game and managed to break down a stubborn Olympiakos defense with Leandro Gonzalez in the 50th minute. However, Omonoia failed to double their lead as Olympiakos began to pressure the hosts and in the final kick of the game, Kapartis’ goal shocked their city rivals giving Olympiakos a very important point.

The weekend derby did not provide a winner as AEK and Anorthosis played to a 1-1 draw at the AEK Arena. A balanced first half did not produce much on the attacking end for either team, but a stronger second half from AEK saw them go in front 14 minutes from time with Floriain’s goal. However, this year’s surprise team, Anorthosis, had the last laugh as Camarra’s stoppage time header found the mark, giving his side a point in a difficult away fixture.

Doxa recorded another home win, defeating Aris 2-1, jumping them into 3rd place in the standings. Redondo scored early in the first half for the hosts before Asamoah doubled Doxa’s lead in the 63rd minute. A late goal from Pagkalos put Aris back in the game, however Doxa held on for the  2-1 win.

AEL Limassol pulled out a narrow 0-1 win on the road against Ethnikos Achnas. AEL were the better side and took the attacking initiative as the hosts sat back in defense looking to hit on the counterattack. Tiago De Leonso’s 72nd minute goal separated the sides at the final whistle helping AEL escape with three important points.

After an impressive draw with Everton in England, Apollon returned home and netted five goals in an emphatic win over Nea Salamina. Alex Da Silva and Jakolis scored early on to give Apollon a 2-0 lead, a scoreline that remained at halftime. After the restart, Da Silva scored his second of the night before the Argentinian duo, Zelaya and Nicolas Martinez, added two more for the hosts in a dominating performance. Nea Salamina were never allowed to get into the game and continued their below par start to the season.

APOEL escaped Larnaka with a narrow 0-1 win on the road against Alki. After successive matchdays without a win, the defending champions returned to winning ways in league play. APOEL had the best chance to open the scoring when the Galazokitrini were awarded a penalty, however Igor De Camargo was denied by former APOEL goalkeeper Urko Pardo in the 58th minute. The failed penalty attempt did not prove costly in the end as APOEL scrambled a 90th minute winner with Zahid, giving his side a much needed three points in their title defense campaign.
