Things have started off on the front foot with the experienced Nigerian striker Brown Ideye landing in Thessaloniki to much fanfare earlier this week to put pen to paper on a new contract. He spent time at Olympiacos (between 2015-2017), and brings a wealth of experience from the English Premier League with West Bromwich Albion and his participations in the Nigerian national team.

Savvas Pantelidis will not stop here. The coach, who joined mid-season after departing Asteras Tripolis, has an array of exciting deals lined up. On top of this, Daniel Sundgren and Lerin Duarte have already signed.

Ambitious owner, Theodoros Karipidis, is looking to rebrand the club and take it to a new, unseen level. The club has already gone up a notch on numerous fronts, but plans to build a new stadium would turn the club into a genuine contender. Kleanthis Vikelidis is already a difficult place for traveling teams and this would be a game-changer. While still far-fetched, it highlights the club’s ambition moving forward.

Meanwhile, preparations for the Europa League second qualifying round against AEL Limassol of Cyprus will include a friendly match against PSV Eindhoven. The Dutch giants, coached by Mark van Bommel, finished second in the Eredivisie behind Ajax and will use the match to prepare for their UEFA Champions League qualifying schedule.
