Armenia's hopes of qualifying for Euro 2020 took a big boost on Sunday as they recorded an impressive 4-2 victory over Bosnia in Group J action. Italy proved their superiority in the group as they took down Finland 1-2 in the top of the table clash to maintain their perfect record.

Italy can begin their preparations for Euro 2020 as they sit in first place with 18 points from six matches while Finland are in second with 12 points. Armenia are now in third place with nine points and are well in contention for second place, while Bosnia sit in a disappointing fourth place with just seven points. Greece are in fifth with five points and Liechtenstein earned their first point of the campaign and are in last place with one point.

ARMENIA 4-2 BOSNIA-HERZEGOVINA

Armenia hosted Bosnia in matchday six action for Euro 2020 qualifying knowing that only a win would keep them alive for a spot in next summer’s main event. The hosts got off to a blistering start as Mkhitaryan found the back of the net just three minutes after the opening whistle. Dzeko, however, equalized for Bosnia just ten minutes later and the two teams played out the same scoreline into halftime.

After the restart, Mkhitaryan once again gave Armenia the lead in the 66th minute before Bosnia chalked up another response through Gojak four minutes later. In the 77th minute, Mkhitaryan turned provider for Hambardzumyan, who netted Armenia’s third goal of the game to give his side the lead once again. The icing on the cake came in the fifth minute of stoppage time for the hosts when Bosnia’s Loncar turned the ball into his own net, giving Armenia the shocking 4-2 win.

FINLAND 1-2 ITALY

In Tampere, Italy and Finland met in Group J’s top of the table clash. After a goalless first half, Italy found the breakthrough with Immobile sending a powerful header into the net to give Italy the lead in the 59th minute. Finland were granted a lifeline when Pukki was taken down in the box and was awarded a penalty. The Norwich City striker made no mistake from the spot to bring the match back to square one.

However, Italy had the last laugh when they were awarded a penalty of their own and retook the lead when Jorginho converted the spot-kick in the 79th minute. Italy held on in the final minutes for the 1-2 win and maintained their perfect record after six games.
