Asteras Tripolis snapped a three-game winless run in the 2019/2020 Super League playouts by comfortably defeating Volos NFC 4-0 at home.

Following their win against AE Larissa on matchday one of the playouts, Asteras had been held to three successive draws by Panionios, Atromitos and Panetolikos, but the Tripoli outfit claimed all three points on Saturday evening as they breezed past Volos 4-0 at home. Boasting 39 points, Asteras currently lead the playout standings, although Atromitos will go top if they defeat Panetolikos on Monday. Volos are in fifth position with 31 points on the board.
Luis Fernandez got the ball rolling in just the second minute of play as he lashed a powerful effort low into the right corner.
On the brink of the half-time break, the 26-year-old subsequently grabbed his second of the day against Volos, beating Tasos Karagkiozis from the penalty spot after the goalkeeper had taken an opponent down inside the area.
Playing with the initiative, Asteras put the game out of sight in the 51st minute, as Sito caught the goalkeeper cold with a strong attempt from long range.
The impressive Fernandez completed his hat trick in the 67th minute as he calmly slotted beyond Karagkiozis when clean through.
In their next game, Asteras will face Xanthi on the road, while Volos will take on Atromitos at home.
