As expected, Asteras Tripolis and Georgios Paraschos have parted ways with the Arkades releasing an official statement on Friday.

“Asteras Tripolis FC announce the departure of coach, Mr. Georgios Paraschos. Asteras Tripolis FC thank Mr. Paraschos for his contribution to the club and wish him success in his professional and personal life.”

Paraschos also released a statement thanking everyone at Asteras Tripolis (administration, staff, players, and fans), classifying this season as a difficult one at the club. He mentioned that ‘we’ did an injustice to ourselves having to fight for safety up until the final matchday despite playing great football throughout the campaign.

The 67-year-old manager took over Asteras in November 2018 and was in charge for 27 matches recording 11 wins, 7 draws, and 9 losses. His stint at Asteras was a successful one at the start, however as the season went on, results began to worsen and it took a win over Panionios on the final matchday to secure the club’s safety in the first division.

In what was a positive take away from the campaign, Asteras Tripolis made it the semi-finals of the Greek Cup before losing out to eventual champions PAOK.

The Arkades will now look for his replacement with reports stating that the club is looking for managers in the Spanish market.
