There was nothing to separate Atromitos and PAS Giannina on Sunday as the two teams played out an enthralling 2-2 draw at Zosimades in their SuperLeague matchday 18 clash, while Panionios left it late to secure a 1-1 draw at Panaitolikos, and Asteras Tripolis lost 1-0 at Lamia.

Up in Ioannina, a closely-contested and tense match was goalless until 19 minutes from time, after which both sides then decided it was time for a goal blitz.

Abiola Dauda started it all off by scoring from the penalty spot in the 71st minute to put Damir Camadi’s visitors ahead.

But two goals in four minutes from PAS’ Spanish forward Pedro Conde (87) and Franck Betra (89) turned the game on its head and put the home side in the driving seat.

But instead of celebrating a long overdue first win since October 28, PAS could not keep out Aristotelis Karasalidis, who equalised for Atromitos in the first minute of added time to salvage a draw and point for the Peristeri club.

Atromitos remain in fourth place as a result, with 34 points from their 18 matches played so far, while SuperLeague draw specialists PAS are 13th, hovering eight points above safety.

Meanwhile in Agrinio, a much improved Panaitolikos side under the guidance of recently-installed coach Traianos Dellas were denied a second win in succession only by a late strike from Lampros Lamprou of Panionios.

Vlad Morar opened the scoring for the hosts, who began life under Dellas with a superb 1-0 away win at high-flying Atromitos last weekend, after 25 minutes.

But the home side were pegged back by Greece Under-21 international forward Lamprou’s late goal nine minutes from time which earned a point for Michalis Grigoriou’s men.

As a result, Panionios remain fifth, one point above Asteras Tripolis, who lost 1-0 at Lamia for whom Alexandros Karagiannis was on target after 72 minutes with the crucial strike.
