The Cypriot, most known for reaching the final of the 2006 Australian Open and the semifinals of Wimbledon that year, retired from the sport this past July after losing in the second round at Wimbledon. His career-high ranking on the ATP tour was number eight in the world.

Baghdatis recently also began a career in commentary, as he was reporting live from London for Greek TV as Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas won the ATP Finals last month. There, he interviewed Svitolina and her boyfriend Gael Monfils of France, an alternate at the event.

Svitolina, a 25-year-old from Ukraine, has a career-high ranking of number three in the world. She has played some of her best tennis over the past year or so, winning the 2018 WTA Finals and reaching the quarterfinals or better at three of the four Grand Slams in 2019.
