Bourousis rises to 9th in all-time National Team Appearances and Points

Giannis Bourousis has continued his rise up the all-time Ethniki ranks passing the likes of Nikos Galis and Giorgos Kastrinakis in the all-time appearances and points ranks.

As Bourousis prepares to help Greece take on the world at the 2019 FIBA World Cup next month, the 35-year-old has continued to add to his illustrious international career by reaching ninth in the all-time appearance list.

Bourousis marked his 169th appearance in a Galanoleuki jersey during Greece’s friendly win over Venezuela in the Final of the 2019 Suzhou International Basketball Challenge on Tuesday night, passing the legendary Nikos Galis.

While Panagiotis Giannakis remains untouchable with his remarkable 351 appearances for the Ethniki, Bourousis is just nine appearances away from tying Dimitris Kokolakis (178) for eighth all-time.

In addition to rising in the all-time appearances ranks, Bourousis’ 12 points against Venezuela also saw him pass Giorgos Kastrinakis for ninth in the all-time scoring list.

Bourousis, who has now notched 1,620 points for the Ethniki, sits just 21 points behind Vassilis Goumas (1,641) for eighth all-time while Giannakis remains untouchable as the all-time leader with 5,301 points.
