Panathinaikos revealed Bouzoukis’ contract extension with this following statement:

“Panathinaikos FC announces its contract extension with Giannis Bouzoukis. Our footballer signed the deal today which is valid until 2022.”

Bouzoukis commented on the development:

“From the very first moment when the discussions began, I wanted to renew my contract with Panathinaikos. I have been connected to Panathinaikos since an early age and I want to continue playing my football here. To this day, my family and my representatives have always been by my side, and I would like to thank them for that. The new season is an important one for the team. We play for Panathinaikos and we understand what this means. I don’t want to make any promises to the fans, instead I want our work to make them happy.”

Bouzoukis, 21, is regarded as one of the brightest prospects in Greek football. After progressing through the Panathinaikos youth system, the talented midfielder made his debut for the seniors in October 2017, before becoming a first team regular in the 2018/2019 season. Bouzoukis contributed with an impressive four goals and one assist in the Super League in that particular campaign.

Transfermarkt rates his value at 1.5 million euros.

KONAN SIGNS

Later in the day, Panathinaikos announced the signing of young Italian striker Christian Konan:

“Panathinaikos FC announces the arrival of Italian forward Christian Anderson Konan, who has signed a three-year contract.”

Konan, who has turned 20 years of age today, was born in Varese, Italy. Initially, Konan was involved with the Bordeaux youth set-up, but he left the French club in January and joins Panathinaikos as a free agent.

MAVROMATIS EXTENDS

Yesterday, Panathinaikos released a statement on their official website which confirmed that 22-year-old defender Theofanis Mavromatis has extended his contract until 2022:

“Panathinaikos FC announces that it has extended the contract with Fanis Mavromatis for a further three years.”

Mavromatis, playing in the position of centre-back, transferred to Panathinaikos in 2015. During the 2018/2019 season, Mavromatis competed in 21 games across all tournaments for the Trifylli, with 20 of those appearances coming in the Super League.

ALTMAN TRAVELLING TO ISRAEL

On the other hand, Israeli attacker Omri Altman has been pictured travelling to Israel, as his transfer to Hapoel Tel Aviv nears its completion:

Altman had left Hapoel Tel Aviv to join the Greens in July 2017. In the Super League, the 25-year-old played in a grand total of 29 matches for Panathinaikos, registering four goals and two assists. He has received an anterior cruciate ligament injury while playing against Olympiacos in the second half of the 2017/2018 season.
