Calathes fourth in all-time EuroLeague assists 

Nick Calathes, who helped Panathinaikos clinch an important victory against Bayern Munich in Athens on Wednesday, is now in fourth place of the all-time EuroLeague assist ranking.

For long periods, Panathinaikos struggled to shake off the stubborn challenge offered by Bayern Munich, but a superb fourth quarter fired the Athenians to a crucial victory at the OAKA Indoor Hall which keeps them in sixth spot of the EuroLeague regular season with an 11-8 record. 

Calathes, scoring 11 points and dishing out 12 assists, is now in fourth place of the all-time EuroLeague assist ranking:

Overall, Calathes boasts 1184 EuroLeague assists in 202 games, with only Sergio Rodriguez (1188), Dimitris Diamantidis (1255) and Vassilis Spanoulis (1500) boasting more. All of them have been achieved with Panathinaikos.

At the same time, the gifted 30-year-old guard is closing in on Diamantidis’ EuroLeague tally of 2495 points, 1255 assists and 969 rebounds:

Calathes’ solid performance against Bayern allowed him to surpass the 2000-point mark.

In the 2019/2020 EuroLeague campaign, Calathes is averaging 12.2 points, 8.7 assists and 4.3 rebounds with 19 rounds in the books. Calathes won the EuroLeague in 2011 with Panathinaikos.
