This following statement was released by Atromitos:

“Atromitos FC is delighted to announce the signing of a two-year contract with manager Damir Canadi until 2022.

“The Austrian coach, who is loved by our fans, returns to Peristeri to take Atromitos back to its rightful place in European competitions.”

“I am very happy to return to Atromitos and Greek football,” said Canadi in a short statement published by the club. “I love Atromitos, the people in Greece and the country’s philosophy. I have a great desire to work and we will speak more on Friday in person.”

A press-conference will take place with Canadi on Friday.

The 50-year-old previously worked as the Atromitos head coach between 2017 and 2019, registering 38 victories, 20 draws and 18 defeats across 76 matches. Canadi steered Atromitos to the qualifiers of the UEFA Europa League in both seasons in charge.

Initially, Canadi began the 2019/2020 campaign as boss of Nuremberg in the Bundesliga 2, but he left last November.
