Croatia defeated Greece 14-11 in the quarterfinals of the 2020 Men’s European Water Polo Championship in Budapest.

Croatia got off to a fantastic start and never looked back, leading 6-3 after the first period and 10-6 at halftime. The Croats then maintained a 13-9 lead after the third period, before ultimately winning 14-11 to book their spot in the semifinals where they will now face Spain. Host Hungary will play against Montenegro in the other semifinal match.
Angelos Vlachopoulos led Greece offensively with three goals. Scoring two goals each for Greece were Konstantinos Genidounias and Dimitrios Skoumpakis. Despite having 32 shots on goal, Greece only scored 11 goals. On the other hand, Croatia scored 14 goals with just 24 shots. Additionally, the Croats were 6/8 on extra player shots, while the Greeks were just 5/14.
Greece will now take on four-time defending champion Serbia in the 5th-8th place semifinals on Friday.
