Olympiacos cleverly spotted yet another young Serbian talent. In the winter transfer window, the Erythrolefki swooped to sign Cumic from Radnicki Nis, loaning him back to the Serbian side for the remainder of the 2019/2020 campaign. Aiming to follow in the footsteps of Lazar Randjelovic, who also joined Olympiacos after catching the eye at Radnicki Nis, Cumic has since begun competing with more consistency in the SuperLiga.

Six appearances, six goals. Hugely impressive league numbers in 2020 for a 21-year-old right-winger. Boasting bags of skill, Cumic certainly has an eye for goal, average a marker per game in the Serbian championship since the turn of the year. Always included in the starting line-up, Cumic has a handy knack of scoring vital goals for Radnicki Nis, notably grabbing a brace in the victories against Cukaricki (2-0) and Indjija (2-1). The upcoming transfer to Olympiacos appears to have given Cumic that extra bit of confidence which is helping him rapidly use his potential to the full.

His second goal against Cukaricki perfectly displays the obvious potential which Cumic possesses. Receiving the ball in his own half, the winger subsequently beats his opponents with ease, powering to the opposing goal with power and pace before calmly slotting the ball into the left corner:

“Lazar Randjelovic is one of my best friends, we spent a lot of time together at Radnicki Nis,” stated Cumic when speaking to Serbian media. “He has regularly spoken to me about the club, the fans and the city. I am really looking forward to when I travel to Greece! I am also friends with Svetozar Markovic who is playing on loan in Larissa. At the moment, my biggest dream is to make my debut for Olympiacos, and then I want to score as many goals as possible. I fully understand the size of the club, so I know that it won’t be easy for me to get in the first team. However, I will fight to establish myself.”

It’s also worth noting that Cumic is the highest scoring Serbian player of 2020 in domestic championships:

Unfortunately for Cumic, the coronavirus pandemic ended his hot run of form, however it is highly likely that he’s already done enough to convince Pedro Martins that he is capable of potentially becoming a key player for Olympiacos. In the upcoming summer pre-season camps, the Serbian prospect will have a chance to show Martins his talents, and he will be hoping that he follows Randjelovic’s path and subsequently secures his place in the senior side.
