Dates released for Super League matchdays

Following the publishing of the 2018/2019 Super League calendar, the fixture dates were released on Friday, with the season due to start on August 25, 2018 and end on May 5, 2019.

With the issue of television contracts finally sorted out by the Greek government and state broadcasting company ERT, the draw for the 2018/2019 Super League was allowed to go ahead on Thursday, as the 16 participating clubs learned the order of fixtures for the upcoming season. It all kicks off with matches scheduled for August 25, 26 and 27 with notable games including AEK-PAS Giannina, Xanthi-Panathinaikos, Olympiacos-Levadiakos and PAOK-Asteras Tripolis.

On Friday, the Super League revealed the dates when each round of the season will take place:

Matchday 1 - August 25, 26, 27;

Matchday 2 - September 1, 2;

Matchday 3 - September 15, 16, 17;

Matchday 4 - September 22, 23, 24;

Matchday 5 - September 29, 30, October 1;

Matchday 6 - October 6, 7;

Matchday 7 - October 20, 21, 22;

Matchday 8 - October 27, 28, 29;

Matchday 9 - November 3, 4, 5;

Matchday 10 - November 10, 11;

Matchday 11 - November 24, 25, 26;

Matchday 12 - December 1, 2, 3;

Matchday 13 - December 8, 9, 10;

Matchday 14 - December 15, 16, 17;

Matchday 15 - December 22, 23;

Matchday 16 - January 12, 13, 14;

Matchday 17 - January 19, 20, 21;

Matchday 18 - January 26, 27, 28;

Matchday 19 - February 2, 3, 4;

Matchday 20 - February 9, 10, 11;

Matchday 21 - February 16, 17, 18;

Matchday 22 - February 23, 24, 25;

Matchday 23 - March 2, 3, 4;

Matchday 24 - March 9, 10, 11;

Matchday 25 - March 16, 17;

Matchday 26 - March 30, 31;

Matchday 27 - April 6, 7, 8;

Matchday 28 - April 14;

Matchday 29 - April 21;

Matchday 30 - May 5.

There will be breaks for Greek Cup matches, international games and the usual rests for the Christmas and Easter periods.

As a result, it’s now known when all major Greek derbies will be played in the new campaign with the first set to be contested between PAOK and AEK in Thessaloniki in the fourth round of games:
