Panathinaikos notched back-to-back wins in the EuroLeague for the first time this season as the Trifylli cruised to a 93-65 win against Khimki at OAKA on Tuesday night.

A highly-efficient shooting night saw Panathinaikos light up the scoreboard early and often, with Denmon’s 24 points on the night leading the way as his side reached the 93-point plateau for the second time this season.

Nick Calathes was also integral on the night as the Greek international notched a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Panathinaikos were in control from start-to-finish as the home side quickly took out a 10-point lead in the first quarter. Javi Pascual’s men would build on that lead in the second frame, pushing the lead to 19 points by halftime.

Strong three-point shooting continued to push Panathinaikos forward and by the end of the third quarter the Athenians lead was up to 23 points.

Khimki struggled to slow down Panathinaikos’ red-hot offense all night, and matters only got worse in the final frame as a 21-16 run in favour of Panathinaikos only padded an already-memorable night at OAKA.

Having climbed above .500 for the first time this season, Panathinaikos will look to extend their winning streak to three games when they travel to Turkey to take on Anadolu Efes on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Khimki are likely glad that they won’t have to travel to Greece again during the regular season after the Russian side’s only losses on a 5-2 campaign have come in Greece against Panathinaikos and their arch-rivals Olympiacos. The Russian side will look to rebound when they host Maccabi Fox Tel Aviv on Thursday.
