Dias arrives in Athens to join Olympiacos
 

Ahead of his proposed transfer Olympiacos, Portuguese winger Gil Dias has been pictured arriving at Athens International Airport as he’s set to sign on loan from AS Monaco.

In the summer of 2018, Dias joined Nottingham Forest on loan from Monaco, subsequently making 21 English Championship appearances while scoring one goal in the League Cup. Impressed by his performances in England, Olympiacos decided to make a move, with head coach Pedro Martins personally requesting for the club to sign the 22-year-old. Dias was in favour of transferring to Greece, and on Thursday afternoon, he was pictured arriving at Athens International Airport:

It’s expected that Dias will play on loan at Olympiacos for the remainder of the current season, with the Erythrolefkoi then having the option to sign him on a permanent basis if they wish. He will now undergo his medical tests in Piraeus before Olympiacos reveal the transfer.

Dias joined Monaco in 2015, but since then, he has been sent out on loan to Varzim, Rio Ave, Fiorentina and Nottingham Forest. The versatile winger has played in several matches for Portuguese youth national teams and his value is rated at three million euros.
