Donis grabs first of the Bundesliga season for Stuttgart
Greek forward Anastasios Donis scored his first of the 2018/2019 Bundesliga season, helping VfB Stuttgart defeat Werder Bremen 2:1 at home.

So far, the speedy 22-year old Greek striker has struggled to force his way into the Stuttgart starting line-up this campaign, but he was handed a chance on Saturday against Werder Bremen and he took full advantage. With the score at 0:0 on 19 minutes, Donis raced past the static visiting defence, charged beyond onrushing goalkeeper Jiri Pavlenka and slid the ball into the gaping net. Donis was replaced after 61 minutes of play after picking up a yellow card for his troubles while Stuttgart eventually managed to win 2:1 in an exciting encounter.
Donis has now made five appearances in the 2018/2019 Bundesliga season, scoring one goal and playing a grand total of 150 minutes. His club Stuttgart currently occupy 15th place of the standings with a mere five points from six matches.
