After Kerkyra equalised in the 89th minute, it looked as though Ergotelis were going to drop two important points at home in Heraklion, but Manolis Rovithis directed a superb header into the net with time expiring. This is Ergotelis’ maiden win of the 2019/2020 Super League 2 campaign.

Kerkyra, on the other hand, have lost all four leagues games so far as they languish in 11th spot with a three-point deficit after they were punished for outstanding debts.

Playing with the initiative, Ergotelis created plenty of promising openings during the first half, but Kerkyra were proving to be dangerous on the counter.

The hosts eventually took the lead in the 64th minute.

Needlessly flying off his line, the Kerkyra goalkeeper had the ball taken off him by a defender, consequently allowing Charles Kwateng to slot his ensuing attempt into the empty net.

Nevertheless, Kerkyra appeared to have salvaged a draw in the penultimate minute.

Brilliantly connecting with a cross from the right wing, Gerasimos Voukelatos managed to turn the ball beyond the opposing goalkeeper with an intelligent flick.

There was to be a final twist in the tale, though.

In the sixth minute of stoppage time, Rovithis thumped a powerful header into the far corner to secure a well-needed three points for Ergotelis.
