Field set for Champions League Final Four

Elimination day in the FIBA Champions League has come and gone and as the dust settles on the quarterfinal round, the sides that will comprise next month’s Final Four have been confirmed.
 
Four countries, including Greece, will be represented in the Final Four with AEK leading the way after the Enosi’s aggregate defeat of SIG Strasbourg.
 
Despite Strasbourg’s exit, France still features in the Final Four after AS Monaco defeated Banvit on aggregate in a rematch of last year’s semi-final clash – which the Banvit claimed before losing to Iberostar Tenerife in last season’s Final.
 
Monaco are the only side to reach the Final Four in back-to-back seasons, though last season’s quarter-finalists, MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg, are through to the Final Four after falling short last season. The German side defeated domestic rivals medi Bayreuth to punch their ticket at the second time of asking.
 
The same can’t be said for Turkey’s Pinar Karsiyaka, who were overwhelmed in their tie with UCAM Murcia as the Spanish side look to continue Spain’s winning tradition in the competition.
 
The Final Four, which will be hosted in the hometown of one of the four Final Four participants, is scheduled for 4-6 May. According to reports, AEK’s home stadium, the OAKA Indoor Arena, looks to be the clear favorite to host this year’s Final-4, which could provide an exciting opportunity for the Kitrinomavro to play and lift this year’s FIBA Champions League trophy in front of their passionate fans.
