This following statement was released by Aris on Friday:

“Aris FC announces that the actions in order to remove the two bans have resulted in a happy ending with FIFA’s seal of approval.

“Following a correspondence with FIFA, Aris FC has - again - from today received the right to make transfers, a fact which paves the way for the transfer planning to begin.

“Aris FC would like to thanks the Financial Director, Agisilaos Toumazatos, who worked day and night to achieve this result, and also our lawyer Konstantinos Zemberis who completed a difficult task successfully.

“We continue even stronger!”

Previously, Aris had been hit with a one-year transfer ban by FIFA as a punishment for outstanding debts owed to former players Diogo Siston, Cristian Portilla and Javier Umbides, as well as the illegal registration of Fjorin Durmishaj. The latter joined on loan from Olympiacos in January,

Nevertheless, after all debts were cleared and FIFA decided to suspend the Durmishaj case for another year, football’s governing body lifted the transfer ban.

Aris finished in fifth place of the 2019/2020 Super League with 42 points from 36 games. The club will participate in the qualifying rounds of the UEFA Europa League next season.
