On Tuesday, Olympiacos conceded a disappointing defeat to Bayern Munich after a disastrous fourth quarter, but they got back on track this evening with an impressive showing against ALBA Berlin in the German capital. The Erythrolefki won three out of the four periods as they breezed past their opponents with ruthless attacking play.

Olympiacos converted 58.3% of their two-point shots while ALBA only scored 40.7% of their attempts in the arc.

This is Olympiacos’ fourth victory of the EuroLeague season in 10 games. Berlin have now lost seven of their 10 matches in the competition.

Augustine Rubit took a leading role for the Piraeus-based organisation, tallying 16 points, eight rebounds and one assist. Veteran forward Giorgos Printezis scored 15 points.

Olympiacos will now prepare to host high-flying Olimpia Milano at the Peace and Friendship Stadium next week. ALBA Berlin will play against Zalgiris Kaunas at home.

THE MATCH

Coming flying out of the blocks, the Olympiacos attack immediately exploded in Berlin, scoring 30 points to gain a large 13-point lead in the first quarter.

Vassilis Spanoulis supplied a trademark assist to the onrushing Nikola Milutinov in the second period as Olympiacos threatened to completely run riot:

Olympiacos, playing with confidence and fluidity, continued bossing proceedings and extended their advantage to 19 points in the third frame.

In the fourth, ALBA did manage to prevent that deficit from increasing further, but the game had long been over as a contest.
