EURO U17 2017 - QUALIFYING ROUND (GROUP 2)

The Greek U17 National Team lost to Ireland 1-0 in their final group match for Euro 2017 Qualifying, finishing second in the group. Both teams had secured their place in the next round prior to today’s match. 

Greece and Ireland faced off for the “prideful” top spot in Group 2 for U17 Euro 2017 Qualifying. Prior to the match, both teams had mathematically secured their place in the next round after Ireland defeated Kazakhstan and Greece defeated Andorra. A first half goal for Ireland (from Connolly) separated the sides after 90 minutes of play, giving Ireland first place in the group with a perfect 3 wins from 3 games. Greece finished in second and conceded their first and only goal in qualifying in today’s match.

The two teams will play in the next qualifying round, called the Elite Round, which is the last stage of qualifying. The groups and dates of the matches will be announced at a later date.
