On February 25, a meeting will take place in Athens between UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin, FIFA vice-president Greg Clark and representatives of the Greek government, in which the parties will sign a memorandum concerning improvements to be made to the domestic game. In recent years, more scandals involving violence and corruption have appeared in Greek football, and the possibility of the Hellenic Football Federation (EPO) being thrown out of FIFA and UEFA has consistently been spoken about.

The memorandum is designed to lower the risk of the EPO leaving FIFA and UEFA, while reconstructing the entire footballing system in Greece.

According to reports, if the Greeks do not stick to the agreement with FIFA and UEFA, Hellenic clubs will be banned from all international competitions.

Last year, the final of the Greek Cup was held behind closed doors amid fears of mass fan violence, while in the current season, several Super League games have been played inside empty stadiums and Olympiacos accused PAOK supremo Ivan Savvidis of also owning Xanthi.

23 rounds of the 2019/2020 Super League regular season have been played. The table will soon be split into two halves for decisive playoff matches.
