Greece, who were the first European team to qualify for the 2019 FIBA World Cup finals, finished their qualifying campaign with two important wins against Georgia (81:69) and Germany (63:69) to top their respective qualifying group. More importantly, the two wins saw Greece move up in the FIBA rankings and claim a top seed spot for the upcoming FIBA World Cup group stage draw. Greece will be placed in pot one along with the United States, Spain, France, Serbia, Argentina, Lithuania, and the hosts China.

The top seed will theoretically see Greece be paired with weaker opponents in the first round of the competition, which includes eight groups of four teams each. The top two teams from each group will advance to the second round, which will see the teams split into four groups of four teams each. The top two teams will advance to the quarterfinals, which will consist of a single game knockout format until a champion is crowned on September 15th, 2019.

The FIBA World Cup draw will take place on March 16th at the Shenzhen Cultural Center. Below is a list of the 32 qualified teams for the 2019 FIBA World Cup in China.
