Greek star Sloukas qualifies for seventh EuroLeague Final Four

In helping Fenerbahce reach the Final Four of the 2018/2019 EuroLeague, Kostas Sloukas has now qualified for the decisive stage of the continent’s premier competition seven times in the past eight seasons.

On Thursday, Turkish giants Fenerbahce qualified for the Final Four of the EuroLeague, defeating Lithuanian champions Zalgiris Kaunas 99-82 on the road to clinch the series 3-1. Sloukas, averaging 10.3 points, 3.5 rebounds and 5.3 assists in the four matches against Zalgiris, has now earned qualification to the EuroLeague Final Four for the seventh time in eight years!

In 2012 and 2013, the guard won back-to-back EuroLeague championships at Olympiacos, before moving to Fenerbahce after competing in the 2015 Final Four with the Erythrolefki. In Turkey, the 29-year-old guard has won the EuroLeague in 2017, while also playing in the Final Four in 2016, 2018 and now 2019.

Sloukas is third in the all-time list of Greek players to play in EuroLeague Final Fours. The first two positions are occupied by Theodoros Papaloukas and Fragiskos Alvertis, who both played in nine Final Four competitions during their EuroLeague careers. Famous faces such as Vassilis Spanoulis, Giorgos Printezis and Dimitris Diamantidis have all qualified for five Final Fours in the EuroLeague.
