Guilherme arrives in Greece, Hassan travelling tomorrow

With a transfer to Olympiacos imminent, Deportivo defensive midfielder Guilherme has arrived in Greece, while Braga forward Ahmed Hassan is also on his way.

Watch LIVE from AGONAsport: Luzern - Olympiacos, UEFA Europa League Qualifier on Thursday, August 16th. Details here.

On Thursday afternoon, 27-year old Brazilian defensive midfielder Guilherme was pictured arriving at Athens International Airport to finalise a move to Olympiacos, with his current club Deportivo finally letting him go to the Erythrolefkoi. According to various media reports, Olympiacos and Deportivo have agreed on a fee of 2.5 million euros for Guilherme, and the player will pen a three-year deal with the Piraeus outfit. Deportivo also retain a resale rate of 10%.

He will now undergo his medical examinations with Olympiacos and he’s expected to be included in the squad for the UEFA Europa League playoffs next week.

Guilherme was a key member of Deportivo’s team in the 2017/2018 La Liga season, competing in 31 matches although the Spaniards did suffer relegation. Overall, Guilherme has played for Portuguesa, Corinthians, Udinese and Deportivo in his career.

HASSAN TRAVELLING TO GREECE TOMORROW

Elsewhere, the Thrylos are on the verge of striking a deal to sign 25-year old Egyptian striker Ahmed Hassan from Portuguese club FC Braga. Over the course of the last few months, Olympiacos have been tracking Hassan, eventually deciding to make a move for the forward and add him to their roster.

Tomorrow, Hassan will allegedly travel to Athens to complete his transfer to Olympiacos. Interestingly, Pedro Martins has previously worked with Hassan at Rio Ave, where the forward scored 12 goals in 22 appearances during the 2014/2015 season. Martins is eager to sign a striker which offers something different than Karim Ansarifard and Miguel Angel Guerrero.

Last season, he participated in 34 matches with Braga, netting six goals and registering two assists along the way.
