CSKA Moscow came from behind to defeat defending champions Real Madrid, 95:90, in Friday’s Final-4 clash in Spain. Dimitris Itoudis’ men fought back from as many as 14 points down to advance to their second final under the Greek boss.

CSKA last won the EuroLeague crown in 2016 with a 101:95 win over Fenerbahce. Itoudis took over the Russian giants in 2014 and has led the club to the Final-4 in each of his last five seasons.

Kostas Sloukas, on the other hand, did not share the same success with Fenerbahce in the EuroLeague’s other semi-final. In the all-Turkish affair, Anadolu Efes prevailed rather easily over Fenerbahce with a 93:72 victory. Fenerbahce were without key players Datome and Lauvergne while Vesely and Kalinic were nursing injuries.

Sloukas was not on his best night only adding 8 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists. The defeat marks Sloukas’ first loss in the EuroLeague semi-finals after six straight Final-4 wins. Three came during his time at Olympiacos (2012, 2013, 2015) and the other three with Fenerbahce in 2016, 2017, 2018.
