Dimitris Melissanidis, Evangelos Marinakis, Giannis Alafouzos and Ivan Savvidis, the owners of AEK, Olympiacos, Panathinaikos and PAOK respectively, will gather at a meeting in Athens, something which rarely happens. Following the incident after the Volos NFC - Olympiacos match, which saw the home of referee Angelos Evangelou suffer an attack, FIFA and UEFA demanded that owners of the leading four clubs in Greece meet with representatives of their respective organisations to find a solution to the ongoing problems concerning violence and the refereeing.

Deputy Greek Minister of Culture and Sport, Lefteris Avgenakis, is expected to attend the meeting as well.

Reports have suggested that Vitor Melo Pereira will be sacked from his role of the Head of Refereeing in Greece. Further changes to the Refereeing Department of the Hellenic Football Federation are expected to take place.

According to reports, Alafouzos and Melissanidis have already confirmed that they will attend the meeting, but Marinakis and Savvidis are yet to respond.

The meeting will be scheduled for January. No date has yet been set.
