Reports in Greece suggest that PAOK have begun talks and negotiations with Portuguese outfit Sporting Lisbon for the permanent move of Josip Misic. The midfielder has expressed his desire to owner Ivan Savvidis of his intentions to remain at PAOK following the end of his loan spell. The Croatian midfielder wants to sign a new, permanent contract with the Dikefalos tou Vorra in order to stay in Thessaloniki under Portuguese manager Abel Ferreira.

The Greek champions have until the 31st of May, 2020 to pay Sporting Lisbon the buy-out clause of two million euros, unless another financial agreement is reached by the two clubs.

Leo Jaba ruled out for at least two months

Talented Brazilian winger Leo Jaba escaped a serious injury in PAOK’s friendly match against Doxa Drama during the international break, however the Brazilian will be sidelined for a lengthy period of time.

Following the match, Jaba underwent an MRI scan to determine the extent of the injury to his right knee. The results of the scan showed that the winger suffered a ruptured meniscus, but avoided any damage to his ligaments. It is expected that Jaba will be out of action for two to three months.

Lazaros Lamprou’s future unclear

After an impressive loan spell in Holland last season, there was much hype associated with the return of Lazaros Lamprou to PAOK. However, things have not gone well for him thus far in his return to Thessaloniki with many reports indicating that his future at the club remains up in the air. Lamprou has failed to break into Abel Ferreira’s plans this season and has seen most of the season from the bench.

Following PAOK’s friendly against Doxa Drama during the international break, Lamprou took to the pitch and scored a goal in the encounter. After the match, the 21-year-old left the door open to the possibility of departing the club during the January transfer window.

Lamprou stated “I want to play. Some things have been said already, I don't know if anything will change. I've been working for myself since I'm not in the team. January is close, if nothing changes, there will be discussions with the team about my future. "

After making this statement, Lamprou later took to social media by posting on Instagram stating that the best option for him is to stay and receive playing time at PAOK.

K. Papadopoulos’ father expresses possibility of son joining PAOK

Kyriakos Papadopoulos’ father has revealed that his son will be leaving Hamburg this winter and has informally spoken to PAOK, where he is willing to join the club for half the money.

The father of Papadopoulos spoke to Metropolis 95.5 where he stated that there were multiple clubs interested in the 27-year-old Greek defender.

“He is tired after being abroad for so many years. He talked to the coach and informed him that he wanted to leave. He has had talks with several clubs and we will see in January. In Greece, only PAOK have shown interest, but in football you never say never. I spoke informally with PAOK and there is a movement for his return to Thessaloniki. There is still interest from Italy, Spain, and the MLS (America) as well as the Middle East. Kyriakos is a born winner, it will be good for him, for PAOK, as well as for the fans if he joined PAOK. He would come for half the money because as a family, we want to all be together’.
