Panagiotis Kalaitzakis has his sights set on the NBA after the Holargos guard was included among the early candidates for the 2019 NBA Draft.

The 20-year-old was the long Greek player to be included in the list of 175 college and 58 international players to file as early entry candidates.

Kalaitzakis, who joined Holargos last summer in a move to secure more playing time, turned professional in 2016 when he signed his first professional contract with Aris.

Aside from playing in the Greek Basket League for the last three seasons, Kalaitzakis has also featured for Greece on the grassroots level over the last two summers having featured for the Ethniki Efivon at the 2017 FIBA Europe Under-18 Championship and the Ethniki Neon at the 2018 FIBA Europe Under-18 Championship.

Kalaitzakis’ twin brother, Georgios, declared for last year’s draft though he withdrew prior to the withdrawal deadline – an option Panagiotis still has up until 10 June.

Duke’s Zion Williamson is the early favorite to go as the first overall pick in this summer’s draft while Williamson’s college teammate, RJ Barrett, is the top-ranked guard heading into the draft.

The NBA Draft Lottery, which will determine the final draft order, is schedule to take place on 14 May in Chicago before the 2019 NBA Draft 20 June at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
