Completely dominant from start to finish, Greece were no match for the struggling Poles, thrashing them by a hugely impressive 42 points. This is the second consecutive victory for the Greeks in Group D after beating Slovenia on Saturday.

Once again, it was Giorgos Kalaitzakis and Dimitris Moraitis who took a leading role, with the pair gaining 19 points each. For his part, Moraitis added eight rebounds and four assists to his points tally, while Kalaitzakis registered a further two rebounds and four assists.

Giorgos Kamperidis (13), Panagiotis Kalaitzakis (12) and Konstantinos Kampouridis (10) were the other top Greek scorers.

At the moment, Greece lead the way in Group D with four points, with Lithuania and Slovenia just behind with three apiece. The concluding group game will take place on Monday against the Lithuanians at 16:00 Greek time.

THE MATCH

Large favourites to win, the Greeks came storming out in the first period, scoring 22 points while restricting Poland to only nine.

In the second, the Poles did manage to score 16 points, but Greece continue running away with proceedings by tallying 18.

Unwilling to slow the pace, the Ethniki Neon did a great job of keeping Poland off the scoreboard, with the opponents only scoring a grand total of 21 points in the final two quarters combined.

Lithuania are expected to give Greece a much tougher test tomorrow.
