Kolossos’ bid to avoid relegation might have received a huge boost on Saturday night in Thessaloniki after the Rhodes-based side pulled-off an upset win over Aris. Meanwhile, Promitheas rebounded from last weekend’s lopsided defeat at AEK with an overtime defeat of Rethymno.

IFAISTOS LIMNOU 77-73 PERISTERI

Ifaistos continued their impressive home form with a narrow win over Peristeri as Ta Sfyra withstood a late comeback from the visitors to claim their second straight win.

Toddrick Gotcher led the way for Ifaistos with 13 points to help his side tighten their grip on seventh place in the standings.

Gaios Skordilis notched 22 points for Peristeri but his efforts weren’t enough to prevent the Doves’ winning streak from being snapped at two games.

ARIS 75-81 KOLOSSOS

Kolossos notched what could be a vital win in their bid to avoid relegation at the expense of a struggling Aris side in Thessaloniki.

A 24-13 run in the fourth quarter put Kolossos ahead for good as the Rhodes-based side overturned a 53-32 defict in the second half.

Kolossos’ Slaven Cupkovic led all scorers on the night with 22 points while Aris’ were led by Vassilis Toliopoulos’ 15 points.

KYMIS 73-90 PAOK

PAOK rebounded from their midweek defeat to AEK in the Basketball Champions League with a blowout win over Kymis.

A dominant 26-7 run in the third quarter powered PAOK to their second-straight win in the Basket League with Linos Chrysikopoulos’ 29 points leading the way.

Kymis, who remain at risk of relegation, suffered their second straight defeat despite a 32-18 run in the fourth quarter as yet another sluggish first half made life difficult for the home side.

PROMITHEAS 86-81 RETHYMNO CRETAN KINGS

In Patras, Promitheas rebounded from last week’s loss against AEK with an overtime defeat of struggling Rethymno at the Dimitris Tofalos Arena.

Leonidas Kaselakis’ 17 points powered Promitheas to the win despite a mini-collapse by Makis Giatras’ men in the fourth quarter.

Rethymno, who pulled-off a comeback in the fourth quarter to force overtime, couldn’t transfer that momentum to the extra period as the Cretan Kings slipped to their third-straight defeat.

HOLARGOS 70-81 AEK

AEK continued their winning ways on the domestic scene as the Athenians cruised to a comfortable win over Holargos at the Antonis Tritsis Indoor Hall.

Jonas Maciulis was a star performer as he tallied 16 points and hauled in 7 rebounds to steer AEK to their third-straight win.

Leading by just a point at halftime, AEK pulled away in the second half to keep tabs on third place in the standings.
