Mallorca confirmed the injury with this following statement:

“The medical analysis of Leonardo Koutris has shown that he has ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament of the left knee. He will undergo an operation next week. He will be out of action for no less than six months. Get well soon, Leo!”

Koutris suffered the injury in the 31st minute of a match against Real Betis at home in La Liga last week. The game ended in an exciting 3-3 draw.

After transferring on loan from Olympiacos in the winter transfer window, Koutris made two appearances for Mallorca in the domestic championship, however he will now sit out the remainder of the campaign. The 24-year-old will also miss the training camps for the 2020/2021 season.

The left-back is due to return to parent club Olympiacos in June.

Koutris, regarded as one of the most talented Greek full-backs, has participated in five matches with the senior national team.

Mallorca currently occupy 18th position of La Liga with 22 points from 25 games.
