Lamia stun Xanthi to make it three out of three

Tyronne Del Pino scored the only goal of the game nine minutes into the second half as Lamia inflicted more frustration on Xanthi, beating the Akrites 1-0 at to continue their own recent superb form.

Del Pino’s strike proved the difference for an in-form Lamia team who have now won their last three matches in succession. In contrast, early-season pacesetters Xanthi have now gone five games without a win.
All of that means that Xanthi remain in fifth place with 16 points after 11 matches, while Lamia, who only a few weeks ago were languishing near the bottom of the table, are now up to eighth place with 13 points.
Saturday’s win was also Lamia’s first-ever against Xanthi in the top flight, making it an even better night for Akis Mantzios’ team.
