Andoni Fatjon put the Vissini in front after 17 minutes at the AEL FC Arena, and the home side received a huge boost when Panionios had defender Giannis Oikonomidis’ sent off in the 28th minute.

That left Panionios with a mountainous task and 10 minutes later they were 2-0 down when Amr Warda scored the Larissa to put the game beyond doubt. To their credit, Panionios did not concede further, but they were limited to long-range pot shots in attack due to their numerical disadvantage.

The result helped Larissa climb to fifth spot, while Panionios slip to the bottom - not a good omen as their prepare to start the New Year.
