A penalty from Milos Deletic after 71 minutes and a Yevgeny Shikavka strike seven minutes from full-time gave the Vissini a precious victory which propelled them up to 11th in the table but more importantly puts plenty of breathing space between them and the relegation zone.

Levadiakos’ hopes of getting anything from the game disappeared after 77 minutes when Athanasios Panteliadis was sent off for picking up a second yellow card.

Larissa are now seven points clear of OFI Crete, who occupy the second relegation spot after basement boys Apollon Smyrnis. For Levadiakos, their SuperLeague future remains under a cloud as they are just one point clear of OFI in 14th place.

Apollon Smyrnis and OFI shared the spoils of a goalless draw at the Georgios Kamaras Stadium on Sunday with a result that helps neither side in their efforts to avoid the drop.

OFI were on top for the most part and hit the woodwork three times with Ricardo Vaz, Felipe Souza and Juan Neira all unlucky not to score for the visitors from Irakleio.

After this result, bottom club Apollon are all but officially relegated as they are now 10 points clear of safety with just six matches to play, while OFI are one point adrift of safety and still have more than an outside chance of saving themselves in the final stretch.
