Larissa Still Searching For First Win
GREEK SUPERLEAGUE - MATCHDAY 4
Larissa are still searching for their first win back in the SuperLeague after they home match against Atromitos ended in a goalless stalemate on Sunday.
The struggling Thessaly club, still the only team from outside Athens and Salonica to win the Greek top flight championship, have yet to find their form since gaining promotion last year.
Chances were few and far between at the AEL FC Arena, with bottom-of-the-table Larissa eager to keep a clean sheet as they looked to try and pick off Atromitos cautiously in the hope to get their first three-point haul.
There was no way through draw specialists’ Atromitos well-drilled rearguard, though, while the visitors almost pinched the points at the end when defender Spyros Risvanis headed against the crossbar.
It was then backs-to-the-wall defending for the closing minutes from the home side who retreated into their shell to hold on for the draw.
Honours Even For Platanias And Kerkyra
There was another goalless SuperLeague clash in Crete as Platanias were held by Kerkyra in Chania.
Kerkyra, who were 1-0 winners against Panathinaikos last time out, lacked the inspiration from that match while the home side also struggled to create clear scoring opportunities in a disjointed match.
